8 Key Factors To Evaluate When Choosing A Woven Bag Manufacturer in China(1)

genuine manufacturers, production capability, quality standards, and export experience vary dramatically. After 8 years of manufacturing woven and non-woven bags and working with hundreds of international buyers, we know exactly what separates a reliable long-term manufacturing partner from a one-time supplier.

Factor 1: Factory - Not Trading Company

Why it matters:

Trading companies add 15-30% markup, have no direct control over production quality, and often can't customize beyond what their supplier factories offer.

How to Verify

Video call showing the production floor: Look for actual sewing lines, cutting tables, printing equipment, and raw material storage.

Business license check: The scope should include "manufacturing" , not just "trading" .

Factory audit reports: Third-party audits (SGS, Bureau Veritas, BSCI) - trading companies rarely invest in factory certifications they don't control.

Visit in person: If feasible, visiting the factory during a China sourcing trip eliminates all doubt.

Factor 2: Production Capacity and Lead Time Reliability

Why it matters:

A factory running at 110% capacity can't absorb your rush order. A factory with idle capacity might have quality or reliability issues that scared away other buyers.

What to Ask

Question

Good Answer

Warning Sign

How many sewing lines?

Specific number (e.g., "300 sewing machines")

"We have many" (vague)

Monthly output?

Specific volume by product type

"It depends" without details

Capacity utilization?

70-85% is ideal

Under 50% or "always 100%"

Rush order capability?

"Yes, 10-15% reserved capacity"

"No problem, anytime"

Busy season?

"Sep-Dec; lead times extend 7-10 days"

"Never busy" (suspicious)

Our Production Scale

At Aoran Bag, we operate 300+ sewing machines across dedicated production lines for woven, non-woven, and Oxford fabric products. Annual output exceeds 2 million bags, with capacity flexibility built in.

Factor 3: Material Sourcing and Quality

Why it matters:

The bag is only as good as its raw materials. A factory that buys cheapest-available fabric will produce bags with inconsistent color, GSM variation, and premature failure.

Material Quality Indicators

Fabric GSM testing: Does the factory test incoming fabric for actual GSM versus stated GSM?

Zipper and hardware sourcing: Branded zippers (SBS, YKK) fail at <0.1% vs 2-5% for generic. For 10,000 pieces, that's 10 vs 500 returns.

Dye lot consistency: Quality factories match dye lots for each production batch.

Material certifications: OEKO-TEX, REACH, or Prop 65 compliance documentation.

Aoran Bag Material Standards

We source PP woven fabric from established mills in Hebei Province, perform incoming GSM and color testing on every batch,  All materials are documented for traceability.

Factor 4: Quality Control System

Why it matters:

"We check quality" means nothing without a documented, systematic QC process. The difference between proper QC and no QC is the difference between a 1% and 10% defect rate - on 10,000 pieces, that's 900 units.

QC System Checklist

QC Stage

What to Expect

Incoming material inspection

Fabric tested for GSM, color, defects before cutting

In-process inspection

Random sampling; zipper function test on 100% of units

Final random inspection

AQL 2.5 standard; dimensional, visual, functional checks

Pre-shipment inspection

Final check against approved sample; packaging verification

What AQL Means for Your Order

AQL 2.5 means: from 5,000 bags, inspector checks 200 random bags. If 10 or fewer have defects, the batch passes. If 11+ have defects, the entire batch is re-inspected at factory cost. Ask your supplier: "What AQL standard do you inspect to?" If they don't know what AQL means, they don't have a real QC system.

Factor 5: Customization and OEM/ODM Capability

Why it matters:

If you're building a brand, you need more than a stock bag with your logo slapped on. You need material customization, dimensional flexibility, unique features, and packaging that matches your brand identity.
