Nylon luggage bags are generally not included in the current conventional recycling system, but there are professional channels for their recycling.
Nylon bags (made of polyamide material) are widely used due to their abrasion resistance (tear strength ≥40MPa) and waterproof properties (moisture permeability <5g/m²·24h), but they easily cause environmental pollution when discarded (natural degradation takes 30-50 years). Currently, they can be recycled in two ways: 1. Sending them to local recycling stations (sorting efficiency up to 85%); 2. Centralized processing through reverse logistics provided by professional recycling companies (recycling rate up to 70%). Recycled nylon (PA6/PA66) can be made into textile fibers (fineness 0.5-2 denier), engineering plastics (tensile strength >60MPa), etc., achieving resource recycling (carbon emission reduction of approximately 3kg CO₂/kg material). Customized recycling solutions for nylon bags, supporting material performance testing (such as melt flow index testing) and guidance on recycling applications.
Conventional recycling systems do not accept nylon: Although nylon is a plastic (polyamide), due to its high melting point (approximately 215–260℃), sensitivity to moisture, susceptibility to contamination, and the need for strict sorting, most municipal solid waste recycling systems classify it as "other waste" or "dry waste."
Mixing into ordinary plastic recycling lines will contaminate batches: If nylon is mixed with common plastic recycling streams such as PET and PP, it will significantly reduce the performance of the recycled material.
